Position: Procurement Specialist
Reports to: Procurement Manager/Director
Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist in the petrochemical raw material industry will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials essential for petrochemical production. This role demands a thorough understanding of the petrochemical market, supply chain management, and the ability to foster strong relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will ensure cost effective purchasing decisions while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Procurement:
-Identify and evaluate potential suppliers of petrochemical raw materials.
-Develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
-Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and delivery schedules. - Supplier Management:
-Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
-Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
-Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments. - Market Analysis:
-Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, price fluctuations, and emerging suppliers.
-Analyze market conditions to forecast future supply needs and budget requirements. - Contract Management:
-Prepare and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
-Monitor contract terms and conditions to ensure supplier adherence. - Inventory Management:
-Collaborate with the inventory management team to maintain optimal stock levels.
-Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production delays.
-Implement strategies to minimize inventory costs. - Cost Control:
-Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost reduction initiatives.
-Monitor and report on procurement expenses, ensuring adherence to the budget. - Compliance and Sustainability:
-Ensure procurement activities comply with local regulations and company policies.
-Promote sustainable procurement practices and ethical sourcing. - Documentation and Reporting:
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records.
-Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market conditions.
Qualifications:
- Education:
-Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
-Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus. - Experience:
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the petrochemical or related industry.
-Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management. - Skills:
-Strong understanding of the petrochemical market and raw material procurement.
-Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
-Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Language:
-Proficiency in English is required.
-Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
